This morning we went to church.  We all got washed and cleaned up for the occasion, and I must say, looked pretty respectable. You'll just have to believe me on that, though, since we forgot to take a picture!

The church service was all in Spanish, but the speaker was very dynamic. He also used screens to project images and key points. Since many of us know a little bit of Spanish, this helped us follow SOME of the key points!

After some brief advice about how to negotiate a good price at the market, we all piled into the vans for our trip to Antigua.  It took us about an hour to get there, but it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed watching the colorful sights of Guatemala glide past our windows.

In Antigua, our first stop was an open air restaurant called Maria Luisa.  The restaurant mostly served sandwiches that are common in the U.S. Apparently, Guatemalans are big fans of American things! : ) We felt right at home with our burgers and Cokes...

The market was lots of fun and we were all able to strike some good deals with our new haggling skills.

On the way back to the vans, LuAnne treated us all to delicious Guatemalan ice cream! I chose my favorite, Pina Colada, while Andy had Ron con Pasas (Rum Raisin).

As we left Antigua to head back to the seminary, the Lord blessed us with a rainbow. We knew it was a symbol of God's enduring promises. . .both for us, and our new Guatemalan friends.
